Active Matter Refiner Guide: Refining, Repair, and Quick Refine
The Refiner is the refinement and repair part of Active Matter's Workshop. Use it for item refining and equipment repair. Before converting an item, check any return information shown in your current client. Making an item through replication or fusion belongs to the crafting side of the Workshop; an old guide that puts fusion in the Refiner describes an earlier version.
Refiner, Replicator, or Workshop?
| Name | What it means for your decision |
|---|---|
| Refiner | Refining rewards and direct equipment repair |
| Replicator | Recipe, blueprint, and replication controls |
| Workshop | The interface that groups these systems, with a separate fusion tab |
The August crafting overhaul moved fusion out of the Refiner. 0.4.0.62 grouped the Refiner and Replicator in the Workshop. 0.4.0.156 gave fusion its own tab. These are interface and responsibility changes; they do not mean every station became a different currency or resource.
Refining and dismantling
The crafting overhaul introduced six Chronotrace types obtained by dismantling items. The 0.4.0.93 notes also changed refining rewards for deactivated monster transformation artifacts. If your current client shows a return for the item you are considering, inspect it before confirming a conversion; the notes do not establish a complete current yield table or exact preview layout.
Any displayed return is a decision input, not proof that an item is always disposable. Whether you still need it for a loadout or recipe depends on your own inventory. No fixed dismantle/keep list or best resource conversion is established by these sources.
Repair without switching away
0.4.0.93 enabled repair directly from the Refiner and changed helmet and armor-plate repair costs. Those historical prices should not be treated as a guaranteed current calculator. Check the item and quoted repair cost in your current client before paying.
Quick Refine: what changed?
| Patch | Documented change |
|---|---|
| 0.4.0.78 | Quick Refine triggers at every raid entry, including Isolated raids |
| 0.4.0.93 | Contract rewards can be sent to Quick Refine with one click |
| 0.4.0.173 | Individual items in the contract reward window can be selected for quick refining |
The notes describe sending selected rewards to Quick Refine. They do not establish every configuration option or the exact processing time for a selected reward. Check the selected items before confirming, especially if you want to use a reward in your next raid.
Before you confirm
As an editorial safety check, read the item identity, any displayed return or repair price, and the action label. If you intended to create an item rather than convert or repair one, switch to the relevant crafting tab. The Shelter guide explains the surrounding preparation loop.
Official sources were reviewed on October 8, 2026 against the latest numbered patch visible in the official news feed, 0.4.0.173 (October 5, 2026). This site has not tested these controls in-game. Exact current yields, every repairable category, and the complete Quick Refine configuration are not established by the reviewed notes.
